Internationally acclaimed encaustic painter Nancy Crawford was a life-long artist and a teacher in the Langley School District for 30 years. She had an uncanny knack for keeping both of those elements in play, with each supporting the other.
Nancy constantly reinvented herself as an artist, moving from painting and drawing to photography, collage and calligraphy; then finally bringing it all together in her encaustic painting. Nancy became a leading figure in this medium and her workshops, both locally and abroad, sold out quickly with long waiting lists. Her work has been featured in galleries in Canada, the US and Australia. Nancy passed away in September of 2018.
Nancy's encaustic work will be on display at the Fort Gallery, May 1-26. Opening reception May 3, 7pm. Artist Talk with Nancy's sister Cindy Wilkers May 23, 7pm. Closing reception and 4th Friday event May 24, 7pm.
Profits from sales will go toward the Nancy Crawford Memorial Scholarship fund.
