Kinesis Dance somatheatro
It is an honor and a privilege for KDS to live and create on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people, we now call Vancouver.
KDS is a dance company, founded in 1986 by Greek-Canadian Queer choreographer Paras Terezakis.
Under his artistic direction, KDS has produced over 40 works, and performed in Canada and abroad. KDS aims to push the envelope of contemporary dance and promote creative dialogue across cultural and national boundaries and artistic discipline by searching for innovative artistic processes, incorporating diverse forms of movement and collaboration, through education, outreach, cultural exchange, research, creation and production. For more than 30 years, Terezakis has explored the human condition through his work. In recent years, his focus has been on pollution - not only environmental, but especially the toxicity we carry inside of us (discrimination, racism, abuse, trauma).
